Hello. It's one thing after another atm, since Sept I've been dealing with Heart Ectopics on a scary scale, meds (Bisoprolol) been upped 3 times now, been in hospital 3 times in last 2 months, also had a cervical smear done in early Nov, that's come back saying I've HPV,.
I know it's a common thing, but I've read that the virus can causes changes in the heart, I know I shouldn't Google and this info wasn't on a UK site it was American, not much info on NHS site about if it affects the heart, I'm just trying to reach a solution as this heart issue I have came out the blue,
Thanks 😊

I really don’t know, Spooks, but this is something that the charity British Heart Foundation might well have some data on, so why not give them a ring?
I’m sorry to read that you were positive for HPV. I hope that there are no further complications with it and that your body will fight it off.
I’ve never heard of specifically the HPV virus affecting the heart, but my own problems with ectopics (and eventually AF) began with a respiratory virus and became more frequent a few years later with a flu virus. After a period of relative calm it all kicked off with the Covid virus, so definitely yes, viruses can do this, although it’s more likely that it’s the immune system response (producing inflammation etc) that is responsible rather than the virus itself.
Hormonal changes around the time of the perimenopause/menopause can also trigger ectopics and arrhythmias for many women.
I’ve had ectopics for years now and sadly I don’t know the answer. They are so sneaky and random, and they do have an impact on quality of life if they are quite frequent.
Different people offer up different advice like breathing exercises or cutting out caffeine. All I can say is that you appear to have been having a stressful time with your health, so you need to take extra care of yourself right now. Don’t skimp on your sleep if you can, find a way to manage your stress, eat plenty of good food and find a way to move your body that feels good to you. Even if it’s just a short walk at lunchtime. You need to give your body what it needs to heal from that nasty virus, and HPV is a nasty, nasty, sneaky one. Maybe your ectopics will settle, but they do have a will of their own. Take care.
