despite a quite good day yesterday I had trouble sleeping last night and eventually fell asleep sitting in my bed at 4am. I was feeling short of breath and felt my heart “trembling” in my chest every couple of minutes or so. I’ve felt that before but a lot more last night. The whole time my heart was beating normally (65-75). Do you know what that can be?
Today, I guess tiredness isn’t helping but im feeling rather down and even wonder if my state isn’t actually getting worse instead of better. 😕
The whole situation is pretty discouraging, whenever I feel I’ve made one step forward, I then make a couple backwards. I hadn’t had a poor night for 10 days and here we go again.

I can see you might be living in France and I am not sure how the system works there but in England if we felt as you do we would be speaking to the Doctor yet again as many of us have to do to get things hopefully sorted
I know though that feeling of taking a few steps forward to then feel you take twice as many back and it really does get you down and makes you feel so low I am feeling this way to at the moment and feel depressed wondering why me but reading your post and you reading my reply I hope even though I do not have the answers that you will know how you are feeling that you are not alone
Try not to feel discouraged I know that is so hard to do but you had a bad night but focus on those 10 good days you had and hoping there are many more to come for you x
That's exactly what I do. I generally get three or four good nights sleep, in fact on Thursday night I was so tired I had to go to bed at 8.30pm and slept till 4am! However last two nights I've been in and out of bed till 2am mostly due to my heart beating so loud and fast, but I just keep telling myself tomorrow will be a good night .Your reply is excellent x
You need to get to your doctors for an assessment so you are in the system. It could be a number of factors including stress / anxiety. Even though it is intermittent (not every day) the doctors can help with advice. I had atrial fibrillation in Dec 20 when my father died and then this Aug 23. My heart rate went up to 200 bpm. Heart rate can also go down too with AF. I subsequently had a stroke on 10th Sept 23 and 3 TIAs. Before this I was also fatiqued and also not sleeping still now. Turns out I had a stroke on the left hand side of my PONs which controls sleep rhythms, bresathing and moods too. So my advice is get to doctor or even phone 111 who can help at the time of any incident. I am on the mend now, luckily slight damage in the PONs and awaiting angiogram / plasty and then hopefully a diagnosis of what is happening as I am only 53 years of age. Good luvk with your doctors.
Poor you, I remember having nights like this and it is scary. I was advised by cardiologist to sleep propped up on a couple of pillows and later advised to higher the top of my bed (had it on 3inch blocks for 3yrs!). If you get really worried in the night do ring 111 or your equivalent, to discuss your symptoms and hopefully be reassured. Sadly the 1 step forward & 3 back is common during recovery. I'd say your heart is reminding you not to over do it and it needs more rest. We do become acutely aware of our hearts after an event, and this can cause very justifiable anxiety, which in itself can cause symptoms. Its a rotten old time and in the middle of the night so much worse. Have a VERY quiet day today if you can🤞🏽and do talk to your medical team to make sure everything is on track in your journey.
Thank you all for your replies 😊. I didn’t move much all day yesterday and last night was much better. I noticed the trembling sensation elsewhere in my body so I think I’m having muscle spasms. I’ll try taking magnesium again.
