Tired of all of this

Untreatable high blood pressure for several years. Tried over ten BP meds, nothing works. Kidneys failing. I know I have blockages they are not finding. Very frustrated, tired and afraid. This mornings BP was 200/104. BP skyrockets when I lie down horizontal. On CLonidine patch, which is killing me, Valsartan and Verapimil. Nothing works. Have Giant Cell Arteritis, Polymyalgia Rheumatica, MGUS, and possibly MGRS. They just listen to my heartbeat and tell me I am fine. I know my heart is involved in all of this, but no one will listen to me.

called my kidney specialist. I see her tomorrow. She wants me to go to emergency room, but hubby and I have taken me to ER so many times. They will not treat because they say it is a chronic condition. Our medical system is broken,

Start walking and don't stop 30 min a day or as long as you want

I used to be a four mile a day power walker. I have an inflammatory vasculitis and do not have the blood flow for daily walking. believe me, if I could, I would.

I miss it terribly. Back in the 1990s I power walked every evening after work. I would put on my Sony Walkman, put in a custom made tape and sing along with the music. Many years later I moved about 50 miles away. I was at a charity function. A woman, a total stranger walked up to me and said: "You're the singing lady". Come to find out she lived in the same trailer park I did and everyone in the park called me" The Singing Lady". I truly miss my walking.

Have you tried alpha blockers like doxazosin ? I had an unknown condition once , that took me 6 months to diagnose by myself, nothing was more unnerving when I would feel my systolic blood pressure surge from going from 120 to 205 within the space of 5 minutes, the anxiety only made it worse, just kept paying for private scans, to nail it all down, and I found the culprit by the process of elimination, it then took me a further 4 hospitals to find a surgeon who would operate, I was paying of course, and then I had to sign a contract saying it was an experimental operation, but it worked and my heart and blood pressure finally returned to normal. You need to start asking for various scans and ticking off each organ in the body, thyroid, heart, liver, kidneys, get your scans and collate them and look at your blood work, so many doctors said there was nothing wrong with me, in the end I had to solve it myself. reading and researching hundreds of medical journals for clues. You will have to consider every rare possibility like pheochromocytoma, that can affect blood pressure. You should be on a multiple drug regimen like Alpha blocker + Calcium Channel blocker + diuretic, you can further supplement, with aged garlic, nattokinase, grape seed extract, and Vitamin K2, and kale Powder, Arterial Protect from Life Extension, also you should be losing weight if you have a high BMI.

Plus either a WFPB or Keto diet, but at the very least a DASH/Mediterranean diet, which apart from Keto are all based upon the original Pritikin diet

You have my empathy. I know it is scary and frustrating, plus having BP that high is just an awful feeling that is hard to describe.

Ive ordered some nattokinaise to use but wanted to ask my dr about it first ....alsobinthink my high bp has something ti do with my thick endometrium lining of uterus at age 60 bleeding blood clots fixing to have a dnc curretage hysterascopy procedure done next wensday .....yeah so inconvient the day before Thanksgiving !!!

I do not know if I have taken Doxa, sounds familiar. I have been on at least 10 different bp meds. Carvedilol put me in the emergency room with suicidal thoughts. Scary. I can not take any supplement without running it by my kidney specialist. With failing kidneys I need to be very careful what I take.

Saw kidney specialist today. Learned I have MGRS. The oncologist has been notified. I start chemotherapy as soon as the oncologist reads the biopsy report. I will have to be on chemo the rest of my life. That is why my blood pressure is so difficult to control.

It is complicated, please read link. I have had MGUS for over 20 years. It has morphed into MGRS and is destroying my kidneys causing the high blood pressure.

Sometimes it sure is hard to deal with all of it. The endometrium could be contributing to the high BP. I had cancer of the uterus in 2004 and had a total hysterectomy. So I have been there with the bleeding. I was having a horrible period every ten days. The surgeon took out every lymph node in my abdomen to stage the cancer. I was lucky as the cancer was more than half way through the uterine wall. I had no chemo or radiation, just the hysterectomy. Now I have issues with lymphedema because I have no lymph nodes. It's always something. My AIc was 6.5. It is now 5.7. I am on a vegetarian diet for kidneys. Unfortunately my cholesterol is 322. That is a side-effect of a drug I am on called Actemra. I am on Actemra for another disease I have, Giant Cell Arteritis. (GCA) High cholesterol is a side-effect of Actemra. Boy some days it just seems like we can't win. GCA attacks the aorta, but so far I am okay with it. I do have a systemic inflammatory vasculitis. Some days all of this just does not seem fair. I didn't drink, didn't smoke, exercised, the whole shebang, and still ended up with all of this stuff. I want to be put to sleep to remove adenoid tissue in my throat and they won't do it because of my comorbidities. Sounds like you and I have a lot in common. Hang in there. I don't know about you, but figure by this time I am one tough old bird.

Dollywow1999 profile image

Also its very hard to get any dr to check my hormone levels youd thinknthey would since my endometrium is at 2 cm thick and its well know that its estrogen out of whack up against progesterobe that causes this thick lining im 60 been menopausal since i was about 52 i quit early im guessing because i also started early at age 9!!

There are many more options for your blood pressure regimen for you to explore with your doctor, if cardiac concerns are prevailing then an alpha blocker maybe considered, if kidney concerns are prevailing then other regimens can be looked at, talk it all through with your doctor. Key takeaway don't give up on your blood pressure treatment.

Interesting on Nattokinase, what dosage are you going to take 2000, is not considered therapeutic. Will be hard pressed for any doctor to give you an answer regarding Nattokinase, unless they were a registered doctor and then studied integrative medicine like Dr Joel Kahn

Nattokinase will not be put forward for rigorous clinical trials as it cannot be patented by the pharmaceutical companies, I accept this as the trade off for all the wonderful medicines invented and how rigorously they are studied before being approved for the general population. We cannot have our cake and eat it as the saying goes.

I take Nattokinase 8000 first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, if there is any mention of high levels of CAC Nattokinase is a better choice than Serrapeptase which has a stronger lysing affect than Nattokinase and could lead to a piece of plaque being dislodged, also if such thrombus occured Nattokinase has stronger anti thrombolytic properties than Serrapeptase.

The downside is Nattokinase does not have a cascade feedback loop if the blood gets too thin compared to Serrapeptase.
