Hi there everyone.I like to tell you my story about my life living with Aortic Root Dilation. To start with, it's been a real struggle to cope with. It all started back in the year 2022 around the month of June. One morning I was out on my own walking my dogs and all of a sudden I started to feel lightheaded and faint. I managed to get home as I was only 10 minute walk away, I had to stop afew times to rest. I made appointment with the doctors and I saw an advance nurse practitioner called Tony. I explained to him what happened, so he cheaked my BP and at the time it was 145/90 he said it was on the high side. He ask me to come back the same time the next day. My BP was 149/90, he basically told me to carm myself down and everything would be ok. Forwarding onto September 2022 the day before I was due to fly to Greece I was at the hotel at Manchester airport , on the night time I was lying bed trying to get to sleep when I started to get anxious and it felt like I was having a panic attack, my heart was racing and I started to pace up and down the room . Eventually my heart started to carm down and everything felt right. Now I was in Greece the days and nights went pass, on the last 3 days of the holiday, myself and my wife would go for a morning walk for about 1 hour, but during the walk I would start to feel lightheaded and I would rest for a bit and the lightheadness would go. I made appointment with my doctors when I got back from my holiday in Greece and explain to them what happened when I was away. To tell you the truth I can't remember if anything was checked but I think I had bloods taken. The next episode i had I was in the car travelling back from Burnley, it was getting dark and I was nearly at Weatherby service and it felt like I hooded of for 1 second and I started to cry because I didn't know what was going on, I pulled into the service and got out of the car and stared to panic.I managed to call my friend asking if he could pick me and my car up and get me home. I didn't drive for along time after that especially driving in the dark. I made appointment with the doctors and told them what happened and they said I was probably suffering from Anxiety while driving. Nothing was given at the time of the appointment just a pat on the back telling everything would be ok.The time in my story is now January 28th 2023, I was out at Screwfix at my local store when I fell down with chest pain, the Ambulance got there with in 20mins, they cheaked my blood pressure and it was 220/130. They said I needed to go straight to hospital. To be continued.

Seems like you have been through so much I just wish your GP took you seriously then you probably wouldn't of ended up in hospital. How's everything now??

Hi Yumz, thanks for replying. I have been feeling unwell for awhile now, the doctors half my medication which I take. Ramipril 1.25mg now i was taking 2.5mg. Propanolol is now 20mg three times per day. I was taking 40mg three times per day. The reason why my medication was changed because, I was getting lightheadness in the morning and my blood pressure was going low as 97/67. Iam still experiencing light headedness so the doctor said not to take Propanolol in the morning just take it afternoon and night. Since 26th October my blood pressure is more than 140/90 everyday and I have been experiencing severe pain just below the ribs and about 3 inches above the belly button. Every time I eat a little food or drink water to get my tablets down I feel full and sick, iam experiencing tingling sensation in my right arm, right hand and legs also. I just been to urgent care at my local hospital and they said I need the camera down to see what's going on in the stomach area, I have to ring the doctors in the morning at 8am to see I can get seen or I have to wait until Monday for my 815am appointment. I got told by the hospital last week that I have thicker then normal blood and I need to goto the doctors to tell them for tests to be done. Only a doctor can usually get my blood out so if I see the nurse there's no chance. I had my CT done last week I they just told me that my Aortic Root Dilation has grown since March by 0.3mm, so now it's 4.3cm. The hospital didn't discuss how my heart and values are, they did mention because my Arotic Root dilation has grown the Aortic value might not be closing properly. Iam not getting to see the cardiologist consultant not until end of March 2024 and I have to wait till then to ask any questions. So iam writing the questions down I need to ask but iam having trouble with that, I hope you could help me with that. Thankyou for listening. Take care.

Your symptoms are typically what I had when I was having panic attacks. Sudden dizziness, rapid pulse and palpitations, feeling of pending doom.
