Hey!
I’m about to have my 6 weeks post open heart surgery appointment with my cardiologist surgeon/ team in 2 days time. The hospital haven’t given me any information about what tests or checks they will do apart from bringing my current medicine with me. What should I expect? Thanks!
Hi , my experience was very much underwhelming - I thought tests etc but no ! Weight /no by nurse - 10 minute consultation with junior doctor - any problems ? Checked movement of head to negate any chest repair problems - discharged to GP - as quoted previously by others - "we are fixed " any later problems a whole new ball game😀
Blood pressure ( no ) mis-type!
The same as myself no tests at all just a 10 minute talk with a junior doctor, and discharged to GP, the GP then received a letter from them stating I had underwent a triple heart bypass, when in fact I actually only had a double 😂😂
When I went for my 6 week post Atrial septal device (not open heart but up my groin) I had BP, echocardiogram, height and weight 
I had chest x ray to make sure that my sternum was stable, ECG, and Echocardiogram. It may differ depending on what you had done though 🙂
My partner had his post surgery check up over the phone! He was discharged back to his GP without anyone physically seeing him.
(To be far he did see the cardiac nurse once prior to this and had a ECG as was having Atrial fibrillation.)
Oh no! Was the cardiac nurse from his rehabilitation only?
He didn’t have any cardiac rehab due to the pandemic, so literally saw a cardiac nurse once to check his AFib.
oh wow! And nothing post the pandemic? How is your partner now?
