Hello, not really. I’ve joined in the hope finding help in my recovery and hopefully help if I can others in my situation.

Hi Mark, Welcome to the club no one wants to join!

I had my HA end of Feb, also 3 stents.

Probably fitter now than I have been for years .... welcome to recovery!

Hello, that’s so good to hear, it helps alleviate worries I’ve had since my HA. I’ve thought a lot about what the future holds for me health and fitness wise.

Yes I understand! It took me a while to get my head around what had happened and my first waking thought for a few weeks was 'Oh, I've had a heart attack'

It takes a while for emotional recovery as well as physical.

I have luckily moved on from that now .

Have you got a rehab course sorted ?

It can often be several weeks after your discharge but depending where you are you may well need to chase it up with the hospital!

I'm now on a phase 4 rehab at my local gym , and also recently re run couch to 5k.

Also managed to loose 2.5 stone from 13 stone 7 to 11 stone !

And I am extremely strict now with my diet and excercise ... but it's now becoming normal for me .

Best wishes on your road to recovery!

Ian

This forum is a great place to get advice and support, as well as talk about any anxieties you might have with people whom really understand how you are feeling . Things that you might not want to discuss with your loved ones for fear of worrying them. Post with as many questions that you want help with , or just if you need to have a bit of a rant about how you feel and let your worries go.

It's also well worth reading the BHF info and Heart Matters for more tips ,

Take care and you will get there , Bee

Hi Mark welcome I am certain you will find some useful information and advice going forward from people going through the same or similar journey.

We all need support at times and it’s here on this site from the most incredible human beings willing to help in spite of their own worries. I am overwhelmed at what some have to endure daily and are still very positive and helpful.
