hi folks, over the last year I’ve positively moved a number of my metabolic metrics that have a big impact on cardio and general health and wanted to share. BMI down from 26 to 24. Blood Pressure meds reduced by 30% fasting blood glucose down from 6.2 to 5.2 I am no expert, I can only say the three changes I adopted have worked for me and could for you. I have found it easy once I stopped taking about what I was going to do and actually committed to doing it and did so! I am going into detail, just google the topics so just the principles. Number 1 limit your calorie intake to a 8 hour window in 24 hours start with 10 hours if needed, look up time restricted eating or fasting for life. Number 2 stop eating processed food! (I have been doing this for 5 years since my stent) If it’s got stuff in that made in a chemical lab is crap! Emulsifier flavour enhancers etc etc don’t fall for the healthy cons on the box read the actual ingredients! Number 3 cut carbohydrates out, excess carbs turn to sugars, up the protein and healthy fats, no cereal! Greek yogurt and berries for breakfast, alternate with omelettes, no supermarket bread, bakery bread in moderation only. Add in a 30 minute walk or other exercise and 🚀 just do it! ps I had my two year check up on aortic valve calcification recently and my cross section area shows a slight increase since the last scan!

Nice Raylpa - any ideas about eating fermented foods and all those things Tim Specter advocates? I have wondered if its worth doing but its expensive.
Hi DasyB Thanks for 👍 Yes a big fan of Tim Specter and Jason Yong. Authentic Greek yogurt and Keifer are my only ventures into the gut health world. Fasting, cutting the processed food and carbs seems to be hitting all the right buttons at present although my HDL is still stuck on 1 however many natural and supplemental omegas I consume. Good luck on your journey
Well I have tried the cabbage/kraut before, and the kefir( very nice!) and kimchi - hard to say if it helps or not, but re-trying to fill my diet with functional food, and without following too many fads. Tim Specter's programme is a bit expensive but I have been considering it. It is at least real science. Nice that someone else is thinking this way.
