Entresto side effects?

Entresto side effects? Hubby has been on the higher dose for around 12 wk, 6 wks ago he started with bouts of diarrhoea every few days and dizziness, it started after a bright spark in boots moved his meds about in this blister pack, Try as we might we couldn't sort things out so contacted the GP, He had wee sample/blood test/ rectal examination and is now awaiting a app for a colonoscopy, So far everything is normal, Has anyother person suffered these side effect while on this dose of Entresto please? He is thinking of calling his heart nurse to have the dose lowered, many thanks

You say the Higher dose is that 49/51mg or 97/103. I am on 49/51 twice a day and have no problems. I also have a 10mg Bisoprolol along with Statin and Aspirin.

I have found my Blood Pressure is more erratic and it can go a little low, but that appears to be the only problem. Has your husbands problems only started since he changed his dose. You seem to have things under control but a call to his Heart Nurse should be able to put your mind at rest. I know my Heart Nurse can see patients face to face should they have problems .

Thank you, Hubby is on 97/103 twice daily, Yesterday i rang his heart nurse who in turn spke to the heart consultant, They don't thick the problem is the Entresto, But think it is maybe cause by other meds being moved about, Our face to face apps have shut for now and all our nurses are working on the Virus wards,

I had heart attacks 20 years ago in my mid 30's. I am doing well though, fit and healthy. But my Efraction Rate was always annoyingly low in low 30's..... that was until I started on the higher dose of Entresto about two years ago. Now my ER has risen to 40% which I am very happy about.

It is a game changer for me, and I have had some side effects similar to yours, I have been diagnosed with Diverticular disease, which one just has to put up with. I found all the other side effects eased after a while and one gets used to them anyway.

hi there Jonathan, Sadly things havn't settled, Hubby has now moved down to the middle dose of Entresto, What makes things hard for my hubby is he is a double leg amputee, so upset tummies in the night mean he has to put his legs on before the loo dash, It was found that there was no improvement in ER since starting on Entresto which he has now been on since last Nov,

Hello there Mitchell, I am sorry that you husband is struggling with Entresto. I guess it is not for everybody, we're all different of course. It was a full 18 months before the drug showed a beneficial effect on my heart. Also, I suffer from IBS which may or may not be related to the drug. I wish you both well... Jonathan

Diarrhoea can lead to dehydration and lower blood pressure which won’t help with Entresto. Best to talk to the HF nurse. I’ve been physical side effects free with Entresto but I couldn’t get beyond 49/51 in the morning and 24/26 pm as it gave me something akin to mania and I’d be up all night with the higher afternoon dose. That said The drug has made a massive difference to me

Thank you, Yes we have been in contact with our heart nurse who in turn has spoken to our heart consultant, He doesn't think it's anything to do with the Entresto, Hubby has also seen GP blood test etc done, We are very careful about dehydration,

Hello. I have been on the higher dose for more than a month and have also been having diarrhoea and feeling nausea first thing. Also food digests too quick and sometime makes me get up in the night. I have always suffered from IBS and have Diverticulosis but now constant as it is now. I'm thinking that I will check with my GP about going back to the 49/51 dose. The Heart Failure team practically signed me off once they got me on the higher dose but I guess I can ring them if necessary.

Hi there Winifred, Thank you for your reply,You sound very much like my husband, Yes he has to get up in the night too, he has in the past month gone down to 49/51 dose, It hasn't helped, And yes once hubby was on the highest dose the heart nurse team signed him off and back to the care of the GP

I also suffer diarrhoea every few days and I am on the higher dose of Entresto. I always have trapped wind also. I do have diverticular disease so maybe it's a reaction. I've lost some weight. How did he go with the colonoscopy?

still waiting on the colonoscopy, They say it's because of a backlog caused by lockdown, Hubby was taken to hospital a couple of weeks ago with dehydration caused by the heatwave we had and also a really ad bout of diarrhoea, Didn't matter how much he drank we couldn't replace the fluid as fast as he was loosing it and it was causing his BP to drop really low, such a worry
