Hey Hearties,Not for the first time, over the last couple of years, has my pharmacist been unable to dispense my prescription for the above medication.
Obviously I am not alone on this.
Having conducted some primary research, the reasons for the UK and beyond, are multifactorial, but of course the usual suspects feature large, Covid, Brexit, Ukraine, Lack of Chemicals, Cost of manufacturing et al.
It would seem only 1 pharmaceutical company have the Licence to manufacture this medication for the UK. How ridiculous is that, to be dependent on 1 supplier for a life giving medication, it's outrageous in my opinion.
After speaking to my Consultant, I'm advised that there are NO ALTERNATIVE MEDICATIONS to change to.
So my question is, what are us dependent heart patients supposed to do ???
Personally, I'm on a high dose 500mgs, split over 3 times a day and just the thought that I'm not having the life-saving heart medication I need, gives me chest pain and palpitations, real or not?? Not easy to say when they strike.
My Consultant/Pharmacist/GP say, just call 999 if you feel "unwell" . .
My nearest hospital is 30 miles away !
I'm considering contacting my local MP, but realistically, how long is that going to take? I doubt his inbox is empty.
Does the BHS have an angle on this I wonder?
Would be interested to hear from others who are experiencing the same.
