Palpitations are considered harmless for the most part. If they are accompanied by symptoms, it’s safer to consult a GP or a cardiologist. You mention that you have a dull ache in your chest. I think at the very least, give 111 a call and see what their advice is. It may be nothing, but better to be safe.

All the best.

Had palpitations for months along with an ache and sharp pain at times lasting only a second or so. Turns out I had a heart attack and a CTO (chronic total occluion). All sorts of things can cause palpitations, meds, caffeine, tiredness, dehydration... wont do any harm phoning 111. Best wishes

I saw the cardiologist yesterday for my pulpatations. I have had the 7 day monitor and he said that the ectopic beats are nothing to worry about as the heart rhythm remains the same. I had a HA in April and I get so scared you would not believe and my anxiety is sky high all the time to the point I think I am going crazy! but he also told me that my heart is damaged and in the future may need a bypass, at the moment it is ok though. So keep walking and hopefully will be ok

I had palpitations turns out I had high blood pressure hypertension plus an overactive thyroid . The doctor took a blood test and put me on Ramipril and Carbimazole .If I were you I would get it checked out just to be on the safe side.
