Restless Legs syndrome and increased palpitations

Hi everyone. I wonder if anyone else suffers from Restless Legs syndrome ( innocuous name for a condition that so severely affects your life) and finds that heart palpitations are worse during an episode. I have asked cardiologists but got no answer. I take ropinirole which is usually brilliant - but doesn't always work.

Could it be low magnesium? This can cause palpitations and muscle spasms, and many heart meds reduce the body's ability to absorb magnesium. Something to think about and maybe raise with your doctor.

Thank you for your reply. That's something I hadn't considered. I will certainly look into it .

also restless legs I believe can link to lower ( not deficient) ferritin levels!

Yes, I believe that's right. I'm now taking an iron tablet but still get bouts of RLS when sleep is impossible and the heart symptoms go a bit crazy and that's what interests me- .is there a link? I'm following up the suggestion of low magnesium levels. Still, nothing like before ropinirole so mustn't moan. Thank you for your help.
