Last week, I fell over in the garden. I tripped on a brick and fell. I did not feel faint or get dizzy. And I definitely didn't "have a fall", as so many in the urgent care centre phrased it. I suffered some cuts and bruises, and did some nasty damage to my ear which required medical attention. Hence, I went to the local urgent care centre.
Whilst doing observations, we saw my pulse was reading at 40bpm. Whilst I've been diagnosed with High BP, which is managed with propanolol, amlodopine and ramipril, low pulse rate has never been seen with me before.
After many hours and multiple ECGs, and a transfer to another town's Emergency Department, the ECGs showed every other heart beat being weaker than the rest, but with a perfect rhythm. They determined by heart rate was 80, but the device only saw half of the beats.
The ED Doctor had consulted the on call Cardiologist and between them, diagnosed me with having Bigeminy. He said one more test would be done on my blood overnight, and I may receive a call the next day; and if not, don't worry. I've not had a call.
I researched Bigeminy and the only descriptions I can find are it being a double heart beat in quick succession. I can't find anything describing every other heart beat being weaker.
I'm reaching out to this community, wondering if anyone else has any experience similar to mine (not the falling over bit)?
