Been diagnosed last week. Been taking ramaprili 2.5mg. I have very low blood pressure and now am unable to increase the ramapril. Does anyone else have this problem? Slightly worried as all new to me. X

So sorry to hear this , you are understandably worried as it is all new for you.Was your blood pressure already low before the diagnosis?

If so , it may mean you need to speak to your Specialist and see if you can try an alternative medication that has less effect on lowering your blood pressure.

You can contact the Cardiac Nurse or contact your Cardiologist via an email to their Secretary or phone call to ask for a call back explaining your symptoms and requesting their help.

They should be able to support you and advice your GP quickly if your GP isn't sure how to adjust your treatment.

Could you say , were you diagnosed with LVH for a cause other than high blood pressure ?

Do you have other conditions too ?

This might help other members when they try to suggest things to you in their replies.

Try to stay positive and relax as much as you can , Bee

Thank you for your reply. My Gp hasn't recieved any info yet and being moved to a cardio team closer to me and awaiting appointment! Rang the specialist nurse who is away. I have always had low blood pressure but its lower since starting the ramapril. I had covid Feb 22 and has left me with multiple problems, kidneys stones, cohrons, fibrosis of the lungs, questioning fybromyalgia and awaiting appointment to see consultant at the Walton Centre Liverpool. If I'm honest I'm a mess and my mental health is shocking too. Xx

I have seen it on my ECGs and it has been mentioned on an echo report, however I've not been told I have it. If I ask about anything, they say I am on the maximum dose of my heart meds - as if that's the cure for everything. Obviously, mine isn't bad enough to warrant any other treatment. Hopefully you will get more answers and the right treatment. Let us know.

I have mild hypertrophy left ventricle but don't have hight blood pressure so probably due to valve disease. I'm not on any meds for it but I am on verapamil for VT. Do you have any other heart issues or is it just the low blood pressure causing it. Sorry for late reply x hope your well 😉
