I’ve had two high blood results for Gamma-glutamyl transferase and Alanine aminotransferase both over 150, treble & double respectively from a blood test two weeks ago.
I’ve not drunk any alcohol over that period the only thing that’s changed is getting AFib.
Has anyone else had this?

Are you on amiodorone? Liver disfunction a not uncommon side effect and I have a regular check since starting this medication. Thanks for your post as it’s time I learned all those medical terms around test results. I hope you get this sorted.
I am no expert but I had similar problems after my procedure. But it was caused by the medication in my case. After changing a couple of things (statin ) it sorted itself out. I would speak with your GP.
I’m talking to my GP this afternoon, my LFT results had been reducing near to normal levels prior to these results, so I think it’s either a mistake on the test or I’m reacting to the medication.
Just for info, I’m currently on Bisoprol 2.5mg ( can’t take more) Rivoroxaban 20mg and Omeprazole 80mg (due to a hernia)
My GGT levels have crept up since diagnosis. I’ve been putting it down to one or other of the medications that I am on. In the 70s now, but GP seems unworried. I have cut out alcohol due to this, but might let myself have an occasional drink in future. Especially now that the AFib seems like a permanent feature anyway.
I’ve always drunk very little alcohol anyway, so one glass on special occasions shouldn’t be too bad.
