This morning I replied to my post about Blank Bio's. Anyways I thought I would check for likes and responses. There weren't any as It has been deleted! I haven't had an email or message about it which is downright rude as I have no idea what supposed rule I have broken although I imagine the empty bio trolls reported me. Can Hidden explain please? This forum seems increasingly out of hand! Hope you get to rest this before it gets deleted?

Is this it? If so it's still visible, maybe there's some technical issues going on?

Aren’t you two observant. I can’t tell what’s coming and going half the time on this forum 🤣.

Some people have a need to constantly patrol the forum to find posts to be upset about.

That’s true. I think I’ve noticed this in the past too!

Hello :-)

I can get on the post and read it and see the replies to it so must be something technical happening as it is clearly there

My profile is non bio but can assure you I am not a non bio troll and I do not believe that all that have not filled theirs in are either but yes your post is still there and HU have not removed it :-)

Hope you are having a nice day :-) x

I agree BeKind. Just because people don't have a bio doesn't mean they are a troll. There's many of us that use the forum for information but for whatever reason don't want to give out their medical history etc. A terrible assumption to make by the author of this post.

Hello :-)

I have never known where to start when I look at the Bio to be honest and often wondered if I did would there even be enough room for everything what is wrong with me :-D

But I hope people get to know me on here and as they do I tell them about me and always thought personally that would be enough :-)

Hope you enjoy this lovely weather and have a nice weekend :-) x

Sorry I put on the incorrect heading I posted a reply after 123456's reply and that is what has disappeared.

Apologies for that!

I can see your reply is missing David.. Can you message or email it to me as I might be able to tell.what someone decided to report you for as I doubt you mentioned that which must be mentioned. Maybe someone thought there was advice being given! 🤣🤣🤣

I have done this Michael! I am off for my Spanish omelette shortly but TBH the behaviour of a few people here is getting a bit much!

MichaelJH profile image
MichaelJHHeart Star in reply to Heythrop51

Hope the omelette is/was good. I think your reference to a certain politician was the problem particularly as he is American and HU is American run. Also some people may have identified with your initial comments despite them being true. Don't hold your breath for an explanation!

hi, you didn’t by any chance mention the unmentionable subject did you? What happened to free speech?

Heythrop51 profile image
Heythrop51 in reply to VelvetSky

No I didn't but I now suspect that it may be that I mentioned a certain rogue politician. No reply from Hidden so maybe either Amy-BHF or BHF_Nurse_Sindy can?

It is not the word "Covid' that is banned but what you say about it. Spreading conspiracies or uninformed and wrong information is and correctly so.

VelvetSky profile image

Oooh you didn’t voice a personal opinion about a politician did you? As I already said before, what happened to free speech?

There are instances where it is appropriate to limit freedom of speech especially if harm could occur.

Even Amnesty International agrees, see their statement below.

"You might not expect us to say this, but in certain circumstances free speech and freedom of expression can be restricted."

I haven't filled in my full bio on here because I have had my details leaked on so many forums and by companies including Yahoo, one of the main credit reference agencies (can't remember which one), Myspace and more recently Capita who hold details about my private pension. They lost my name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, pension number and national insurance number. This is all now on sale to crooks all over the internet, so that is the main reason most people won't fill in their bio on a forum like this, it does not mean someone is a troll.

I don't think you should have to declare that much info in the BHF forum bio Wingnutty.

Also i think that you are right to be concerned about info being misused, and I'm sorry about your experiences with other companies as that must have been very stressful to find put about and to resolve.

- -

I think the BHF forum Bios should only ever have just enough info to let others see the type of medical issues - only because this is sometimes helpful if read alongside replys to guage if other people really do have some similar experiences and / or understanding.

But i do think that other people's Bio's or lack of Bios should not be used against them in posts replys!

e.g. I've seen others question posts & ask if posters are really suffering heart issues, and i've experienced my 'bio' info used against me to question my lifestyle (prior to my heart issue), and I've also seen those same users answer in an 'i know better than you due to my heart issues manner" .... yet when you look up their own bio it's completely blank! . I think this type of behaviour is not acceptable. If you don't share your bio, you have no right to question others who don't want to share a bio or to cross-question and / or judge those who do share info on their bio.

Fortunately it does seem as if this is only a small % of users who do this!

Yep, totally agree.

The guidelines ask us to be respectful to others including their beliefs and opinions even if we don't agree with them.In that context it is not in keeping with the ethos of the forum to criticise another person whomever they are. They cannot defend themselves.

As the saying goes shoot the message not the messenger.

Maybe best not to discuss politics, religion or other beliefs on the forum ?

We have free speech but do we have the right to offend and insult others.

During the pandemic the forum became like the wild west with conspiracy theories etc causing a great deal of disruption and upset on the forum.

As a result the BHF HU made a decision to automatically delete any post that contained certain disruptive and provocative words for the safety and wellbeing of all the forum members.

I suggest if you have an issue with this decision to contact the Moderators or the BHF directly.
