Had an echocardiogram today... No results though as its my 1st since having an ICD fitted. I am disappointed and relieved at the same time! My husband is super and my absolute rock. He is sure my heart is getting stronger because I am not sleeping so much in the day, so thats enough for me! I am not sure what to do about my blood pressure, 84 over 51 and 55 beats. Anyone any ideas please? 💜

Hi AnneFromOz 👋, Thank you so much for your reassuring message. I think I will carry on as I am as (touch wood) I haven't fallen over yet! x

Is your doctor aware of your BP readings. If so and is not concerned then you can relax. If not then seek reassurance by telling him/her your readings and get their opinion. Hope you get your Echo results soon and all is well. Best wishes.

I would feel drained at that low BP range. I was told in hospital that drinking more water can raise the level.

As others have suggested you need to run this by your GP.

I have very low blood pressure { lower than yours } and my Cardiologist wants me at that level, took me a little while to get used to it, but that is me.

As AnneFromOz stated there seems to be a trend of maintaining a low blood pressure in heart cases as long as it doesn't impact on your day to day living.

Like the others have said I would ask your Dr/Cardiologist if they are happy with you at that level.

Fingers crossed for your E/F results

Take care

BP is individual. My husbands BP usually sits in the 80's/50's & even though it doesn't impact him all his medical team ( HF cardiologist, HF nurses etc) are concerned about it and as a result he's temporarily not taking all his heart meds to try & improve it. In the short term when your BP is low the best way to raise it is to drink plenty of fluids (if you're not on fluid restriction) & elevate your legs but definitely let your medical team know

Hi Cinders, yes I would say if your not sleeping as much in the day your heart must be stronger, blood pressure is a little low though.Seek answers.✋🤙
