Good morning heartful friends,

I'm home from my trip to the city for my stress test. The most stressful part of my stress test was stressing out about it. It was actually, nothing special and certainly nothing to be nervous about. I'll get the results when I see yet another doctor on May 9.

Hello :-)

We always seem to stress about things then go and do them and think why did we stress I think sometimes if we have not done it before it can be the unknown we stress about

I am glad you have managed to get it done and I hope the results are good and you will let us know

Relax now you are home and well done :-) x

Thanks for the update. Let us know the results.

Excellent news

good news, sometimes the build up is worse. Not long to wait for results, that’s impressive timescale!

I couldn't manage to finish it but I knew they had seen something when I told them I was going to have to stop part way through level 3 they told me it was okay as they got what was needed!

Fingers crossed yours will give you some answers.

Hello. If you don't mind me asking what stress test did you have was it on a treadmill or a bike? Just curious as i will be having a cpet in a couple of months. Had one last year but my cardiologist wants me push harder? Now I have been on lisinopril and spironolactone for a year now. Spironolactone is a diuretics and according to my last clinic my body is not holding on to any water now, so I don't have heart failure. So in theory I should do bette than last year ? We will see been practicing down the gym. But they are not as bad as you think .

i was given the option of taking a drug to simulate the heart under stress (open blood vessels wide) and trying the treadmill. I had to raise blood pressure to target heart rate for my age and keep it slightly above for one minute. then they injected me with some "nuclear" medicine that enabled them to get a picture of the heart in stress (technology is a mystery to me) ... all in all, with the waiting etc, it took about three hours. no bicycle option offered

Oh I see it was the nuclear option. Yes when I do mine I have to push my heart rate up to around 90% of maximum. I managed 7 minutes on the bike. I think I might need to try for 8 or 9 minutes. We will see. Glad you got on OK.
