Been burping acid reflux only little bit I have had alot of fizzy drink but I'm used to that just getting so fed up of this I know I need to wait along time atleast 2 months for meds to work ☹️ but this is horrible!! I know it's not heart related sure feels like it honestly I hate anxiety 💔💔💔😩 it hurts! Sorry for the rant I just don't know what to do anyone on here got any advice that dosent involve 111 or A&E, I am freaking out though maybe I over did it, feels like a tight band round my chest 😢😩.

I was very scared and worried I was going to have a heart attack when I first found out I had ectopic beats. The doctors would always say to me that you would get constant pain in your chest, arms, neck or jaw which would keep getting worse and worse. It would be that bad youd literally have to call for an ambulance and the only way to stop it would be them injecting you with something. Whenever I get chest tightness from bad indigestion I always think of what the doctor told me, I often find this gives me a lot of reassurance. If you suffer bad from heartburn/acid reflux you can get all types of pains around your chest and abdomen it’s completely normal.

ok that's probably what it is anxiety makes me freak out which makes this so much worse 💔😢😔🙄

Trust me I get it 100%. My anxiety goes through the roof with any pain or feeling I get in my chest. Problem is it creates more stress which then makes you feel even worse. If you drink a lot of fizzy pop that can definitely trigger indigestion, I rarely drink it now. Plus coke especially has a lot of caffeine so that can make anxiety worse.

Aw im my own worst enemy! I don't know what I can drink now. I'm just so fed up right now honestly.

If you ever need anyone to talk to feel free to message me. I’m my own worst enemy too, I’m forever obsessing over things convincing myself I’m dying. I literally went to decaf tea and mainly drink water and squash now. I might have the occasional hot chocolate or coke/Pepsi Max but it’s very rare.

Yumz199725 profile image
Yumz199725 in reply to Sammi25

Yeah I drink decaf tea been drinking it for a while now, I think I get my cocca addiction from my nana she drinks loaddddds. Yeah would be nice to message you 😌

Sammi25 profile image
Sammi25 in reply to Yumz199725

That’s your problem then if you drink a lot of coke. It can cause a lot of issues with your stomach and indigestion to heart palpitations. Why is it the bad things taste so good? 😂

Yumz199725 in reply to Sammi25

Yeah I know and what's worse is my consultant said I can't drink it 😳🙄😕 I didn't for ages but then just got right back into it I literally have no leg to stand on 😐🙉🙈🙊

Thanks Andy 😌. I don't know why this is happening I need to just sleep and I will feel better. I did the oximeter everything is normal so it's nothing stupid anxiety mimics heart symptoms I hate this heart disease and anxiety together really stinks 😞💔. I was having a great day aswell 😟.

Have you tried other versions like the caffeine free? I’d definitely listen to your consultant though. Then again when do we ever follow the rules.

I used to have all sorts of strange feelings after my bypass. Breathlessness , bloating etc until I learned about the Vagus nerve . My doctor explained how this can affect our lives. I found out a lot about it on utube and it helped my anxiety a great deal. I had a UTI last year which didn’t seem to settle down after antibiotics but I was also stressed out about other things. The doctor told me to relax and sort of pull myself together and it did go

Good morning Yumz! Just reading your post and replies from last night. I hope you got some sleep? I was awake with anxiety myself. I can empathise completely!

Why do these thoughts and feelings hit us when we have had a good day and dare to think we've cracked it! I had a mitral valve repair and Aortic replacement 8 weeks ago. It was all quite sudden, and I was only expecting the repair. 8 hours in surgery and aortic valve replacement too! Then less than a week later you're sent home saying your fixed! I have my appointment with surgeon on Thursday which I'm hoping will convince me! I have lots of questions! I was (I AM) a very independent lady but quite often feel I've turned into a vulnerable old lady! I'm not ready for that!

Part of me says you've been given these extra years to live so get out there and enjoy them! The next minute I'm anxious about going for a walk alone! Next week after seeing surgeon I assume I can get in the car and drive! ? What if I have a panic attack?? I guess I have to much time on my hands! I need to give myself a good talking to. Its good reading on this forum I am not alone and seeing anxiety is a common problem.

TODAY WILL BE A GOOD DAY!! 👍

with anxiety anything and everything can feel difficult to rationalise and keep in perspective. Don’t feel stupid or daft. You’re not!! Yes it’s a horrible feeling. Accepting you have it and not fighting it can help. Say hello to it. It’s a visitor that’s not going to stay long. If you fight with it it stays longer. I’ve felt anxious over nothing. Counselling has helped and I’d have it again. It gave me tools to work with. Hopefully you’ll find something that helps.

So sorry you’re going through this. Sometimes our bodies do things that makes us think it’s our heart and we’re in danger. I will tell you a funny story. I was staying with my mum and one day I was walking and I got a massive pain in my chest but it felt like it was in my heart. I tried sitting but the pain became worse. I told my mum and she told me to go and lay on the bed, but I found I could only lay on my right side, it’s a bungalow so no stairs. She made me a glass of andrews with a straw and she fed it to me laying down. After I drank it I let out a couple of mighty big burps, and the pain was gone. I felt so stupid. She’s an ex nurse so she was very calm which made me calm. But I really thought that was it. I was wondering if my device would shock me for the first time. 😁

Hi Yum, This is horrible and scary for you.

Have you been given lansoprazole capsules to take?

If you have, take them first thing in the morning and WAIT 1 HOUR before having food.

My Sister's and I had the same feelings as you have described. I thought I was having another heart attack. It turned out that the tablets I was on irritate your stomach and once I took them properly I was fine. Maybe try cutting out the fizzy drinks and anything else acidy at the moment to see if it works.

Hi Jane thanks for your comment. I'm not an anything for it only thing different is the anti depressants I'm on now make you sleep for ages 🙈. It's hard for me to cut out fizzy drinks there's not much else I can drink I decided I would drink a whole bottle of peach sparking water and that was ok has to have flavour or its pointless. What else is acidy I should cut out??.

MumaLines profile image
MumaLines in reply to Yumz199725

Lime gets me every time, the acid is instant. Maybe ask for some Lansoprazole as it will take all of that acid & figures crossed, tight heavy feeling xxx

please avoid fizzy drinks and drink lots of water, I loved a glass of wine and once I stopped replaced it with tea which I would drink at least 10 cups a day plus now I’ve reduced my tea to 2 cups of decaf a day and just drink water. Maybe add a slice of lemon and pretend it’s your favourite drink. If it prevents your pains and anxiety levels surely it must be worth the change. Please take care and if ever the pains show symptoms of HA please call 999.

Hello :-)

I hope you are feeling a little bit better from when you wrote this

I know how this makes you feel so fed up and drags you down but hopefully when those meds start working things will really improve :-) x

Hello :-)

At least you know this is normal how you are feeling and it will get better

When you feel this way keep reminding yourself it is going to pass and it will think of how well you did at the gym and the shopping day you had and those days will get more and more

Think a few have the Monday Blues today from the posts you are not alone :-) x

Good Morning.

How are you today?

I hope your gym session goes well.

Re drinks-Have you tried drinking boiled water-hot (but obviously let it cool a bit!) I find it tastes like tea to me and had that same sip& soothe benefit

You could try hot ribena too but all these sugary drinks are not brilliant for one’s teeth.

Fizzy drinks will load you up with gas and make you uncomfortable and worried (and at night this becomes much more stressful) .

Best wishes

Thanks for your very helpful reply. I've decided to go to the gym wedensday. Too tired today just woke up. Maybe I'm drinking too much decaf now on one hand I need to stay hydrated but all I have is fizzy drinks and decaf tea which isn't helpful 😜. When I get some money I will be stocking up on juice water and anything else that's heart friendly and anything that boosts b12 I have cereal that does that but as I woke up at midday I think it's safe to say I won't be having breakfast 😂🤔

Years ago I had a complete breakdown through anxiety; I was admitted to hospital and even back then given ECT which was horrible and didn't help. I battled anxiety for years after that and the only thing that helped me was being taught self hypnosis as a means of calming down. Try to see a hypnotherapist. It is difficult but you finally feel in control rather that the anxiety controlling you.

I'm sorry to hear that you are so worried.

With regards to your indigestion, I've done a lot of research recently because of my prediabities. As a result I'm taking 1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar (organic, and including The Mother) in a glass of water every night about 30 minutes before bed. If you give your body a little extra natural acid, it reduces reflux, NOT increases it as you would expect. It also aids digestion - as does Kefir yogurt from supermarkets.

Instead of taking my word for it, please do a little research on Google or You tube. The above ideas are cheap and hopefully effective for you. I asked my doctor if taking apple cider vinegar is ok with my heart meds, and I suggest you do the same.
