Valve replacement surgery. For the third time...

Does anyone have personal knowledge of the recommended surgeon who I believe is based in Wolverhampton. I am waiting to have my mitral and tricuspid valves replaced. My Cardiologist in Derby has referred me to this surgeon as this will be the third replacement of my mitral valve. The first was in 1984 when I was 17, the second in 2003 when I was 36 and I'm now 56. Anyway I know nothing about this Consultant so I'm looking for a bit of information and reassurance. i would suggest you look him up on-line. The guidelines here say  we shouldn't ‘Post real names of the doctors or nurses treating you, or specific hospital teams.’ Best to edit your post to delete the name, I think.

Hi Nicki, when I was admitted to hospital last January after a HA and waiting for a triple-bypass in February, once I found out who the surgeon would be I was able to 'find' him online. Good luck with your operation and I hope you don't have to wait too long. Carol

Thank you Carol. I have looked him up but the written word doesn't really tell you what a person is like. He is very well qualified and has a good reputation. I guess I'll just have to wait until I see him. Anyway thank you again for your kind words.
