I'm sure folk know about this, but maybe worth highlighting again. Article only mentions apple products but may apply to other makes and models.

Thank you for that, it took them long enough, didn't it, to release an official notice.

Take care

I'm sure that's the same for all new phones + microwaves and induction hobs. I've also read of concerns about Smart Meters

You're quite right about the phones, induction hobs etc, or anything else that has a magnet in it, we were told this 10 years ago but what's the issue with smart meters? Wouldn't you need to be close to them for your ICD to be affected?!

Not sure yet as I won't have one but get palpitations and chest pain passing the 5g tower going to my local supermarket so have to go the long route 🥴

Blimy, I wouldn't know what a 5g tower looks like 🤨 but would assume they'd have quite powerful magnets in them? We've had/have smart meters, haven't experienced any problems with them but will ask next time we're at the pacing clinic

Its easy to get into conspiracy theories but there is growing concern that 5G may cause a problem as their waves are different to 4g and many more towers will be needed because the signals are relatively weak. With the internet of things (so your fridge can tell you when more milk is needed) the number of 5g transmitters will explode and we really dont know enough about them to confirm they are safe

They are trying to put a tower right at the back of my sisters house. 😥

As their range is so short they will need to be placed on shops, street furniture and on lamp posts. There will also be a lot more towers. There really needs to be a proper scientific investigation to see if this widespread coverage will be harmful or not

Yes, I was told all mobiles. I’m pretty certain mine is closer than 6 inches when I’ve got it tucked into my shoulder for hands free! The docs basically said don’t carry your phone in a left breast pocket x

Amusing anecdote warning !

For years I placed my mobile phone in my shirt breast pocket without a thought.

Then I had a pacemaker fitted and without thinking put my phone in its usual place.

A short while later (2-3 days) I suddenly realised this was a no-no and immediately took a sharp blade and cut all the breast pockets off my shirts so that I could not repeat my mistake!

Haha, slightly drastic, but very effective! I wonder if breast pockets were originally put on the left side so that men could keep their cigarette case in it which might save them from a randon sword stabbing? Or because the majority of us are right handed and it's easier to get things out of a left pocket?

Yes your right. I always used to carry my Android phone in the top left pocket of my shirt. But obviously since having a pacemaker that's a No No

please remember that this is old news 2020 and was aimed at an IPhone 12. Older iPhones not included and changes have been made to newer Apple iPhones and the report said MAY not does affect. But it is good advice

It's been updated to include iPhone 12 to 14... bottom of the article

Solar panels induce a magnetic field and Wind turbines use them. There are many sources pf potential electro magnetic activity and we really haven't explored the down sides of the many gadgets we buy or are exposed to.
