I've been fine for ages since I have been on verapamil but today I've had alot and some chest discomfort and tightness only slightly, it started while I was in the bath felt really strange just suddenly a massive thud and then a fluttering sensation I'm getting now feels weird I'm not sure what's brought this on looks like I won't be sleeping well tonight 😕🙄

Same. Some really bad palpitations woke me from my sleep last night. They seem to come in phases, with no obvious triggers and almost always when I’m dosing off/sleeping. Mine are also accompanied by a tight/constricting feeling when I do have these random episodes.

I usually do some vagal manoeuvres to reset my electrical heart rhythm such as coughing. If my palpitations go on too long, I risk having a coronary spasm due to the elevation in my heart rate.

I have been under some stress recently, so I have put it down to that for the time being. I wonder if it could be something similar for you as I know you’ve been concerned about your issues with bloating recently and that may have triggered it.

Needless to say, if they get worse in the night, please call 111.

Yeah it's horrible, yeah your probably right I am still worried about that like why is my belly constantly bloated it's well getting me down. I'm gona try and get some sleep and if they do get any worse will definitely be calling 111.

This sounds similar to what I experience regularly. I actually caught some on the kardia device given to me by my GP and it came up on the reading saying “premature ventricular contractions” so perhaps that could be what you’re experiencing too?

I think if it feels different to your usual symptoms it would be worth doing the 111 questionnaire online or making a call for advice, especially if you’re experiencing discomfort with it. As we’ve been saying a lot recently, it’s far better to be safe than sorry!

Keep us posted with how you get on.

Best wishes
