I know proning can help improve oxygen levels. It’s a position whereby you lie on your stomach and is used in hospitals. However, I wouldn’t do it without informing your nurse or doctor first at the hospital as you’ve recently had a stent and it may cause you discomfort.
Good to hear the oxygen is improving, even though it’s slower than you hoped.
But I (and I can't believe I'm saying this) I want to go back to Mum's I don't want to be in here anymore
Hello
Well when I was at your stage I had a nice Nurse that came round and I was always panicking over my oxygen levels and when he took it and it was still in it's 80's he used to tell me to take some deep breaths in and out and he would wait and take it again and it would have gone up a few points
I am not telling you to do it though as that was me but you should or they should be advising you now how to strengthen your lungs
You will like this one when I had my heart attacks and my blood pressure was low the Nurse used to go and fetch some biscuits and make me eat them and that would get it up again
Now again that was what I was made to do but don't sit there now eating packets of biscuits ask them if there is anything you can do to help get your BP back up
I have to say V I am the worst staying in Hospital and I think you are doing so well I really do and you will be home this time next week if not before but you need to stay there and when they do send you home making sure you are 100 % because you are having to many holidays in there now
I was given the same advice as BeKind when my oxygen sats levels drop in hospital. I was advised by the nursing and medical staff to take some deep breaths in and out.
I only get a glass of water to drink when my blood pressure drops 🤨
You won’t get any better care than where you are and they won’t discharge you until you are A1. My daughter had pneumonia twice so l know how your Mum is worrying. Your lungs must be healing because you are off the IV drugs. Don’t rush yourself you are not in a race. Let the medics do their job - they are good at it, and hey, it may only be an extra 24 hrs in there. You will soon be home so wishing you well.
Hello V, I appreciate you want to go home. By all means take some deep breaths and drink water but you do need to be a little patient. You dont want to undo the good work that’s been done so far. You have had pneumonia and you still need to rest. Your courage is admirable but please listen to the nursing staff. It is unusual that they are not shouting they need the bed! Please continue to give your body time to recover xx
Not sure how daft you actually look though so will have to take your word for it x
V I know you don't like it, but don't stress yourself and do let things to right themselves, you don't want to be back there and I am sure mum doesn't mind waiting.
I was told the same take deep breaths and my oxygen level came up. You are in the best place. Pneumonia is horrible I had over millennium New year and took a good 3 weeks to feel better and that was without what you have just been through
Personally, I would recommend meditation. Not only do it help you to focus on your breathing and allow you to take in deep, controlled breaths but it can help to lower your heart rate and bp.
You can do this, try to stay positive! Right behind you.
Ah, but..... I worked from home from 2008. Often ended up burning the midnight oil when previously I'd have vacated the office much earlier. So beware of the convenience of home working!
