I have Sinus Bradycardia and during a recent Pacemaker checkup I was told I have an increasing AV heart block which my Pacemaker is dealing with. Any comments from anyone with a similar experience would be helpful.

Sinus Bradycardia and first degree AV heartbkock
Hi, AV block is when the electric signal from. The synus node does not travel correctly between atrium and ventricle and therefore they don't synchronise correctly, generating extrasytoles, palpitations and abnormal rhythm. The pacemaker deals with it keeping the correct sync. I assume this is not the reason you were implanted a pacemaker?
Hi Faub, you are correct, my Pacemaker was installed for sinus Bradycardia.
I see. I have one installed since October 2021. I was having sudden faints and my heart would drop to 30bpm. That was due mainly to my aortic valve, which has been replaced, but I still have the heart block and my lower chamber is basically paced 90% of the time. Amazing technology allowing us to have a normal life!
Hi, my original problem arose in July 2018. I collapsed in my garden and was found by my wife semi conscious. She managed to keep me going and call an ambulance. When they arrived I had two further fainting episodes and was then taken to A&E. In A&E my heart stopped 5 times including one stop for 14 seconds. The Pacemaker was implanted the following day and has been brilliant. I have an Azure Pacemaker and a Meditronic app on my mobile phone which monitors the Pacemaker by Bluetooth connection and notifies the hospital if anything is going wrong. Amazing medical science and technology.
