Hello! I don’t have any diagnosed heart disease, but I have noticed some upper back pains recently, especially when in bed. Should I be concerned? I’m a 61 year old woman with multiple chronic health conditions, including high cholesterol.

Upper back pain
Hi pinkfemme.I think it's worth mentioning to your GP just incase it is something to be concerned about. And because you have other health issues they should take you seriously. Hope you get on ok take care ☺️❤️
I had upper back discomfort and in my ribs. Can't say it was dreadful pain. I was due to have an angiogram but had a heart attack 5 days before. I was convinced it wasn't my heart as exertion didn't make discomfort any worse. After calling 111, they sent an ambulance and I was taken to hospital for an emergency angiogram which discovered a clot. Angioplasty was performed (stent inserted and clot removed) and I was home 2 days later. I wish you well.
Upper back pain can be associated with angina in some cases. I suffer with vasospasms, so upper back pain is quite the norm for me.
Of course, I’m not saying that you have angina; however, it is safer to speak to your GP about this and perhaps, they can refer you onto a cardiologist if they deem fit for some testing to rule out any type of angina, or something heart related.
Good luck!
Good morning. Can I ask if you're on statins at all? I was started on statins after a mini stroke last June. A short time later I started getting back pain between my shoulder blades. It gets progressively worse and eventually I have to rest to try to alleviate it.I have put it down to the statins, and am trying different ones to try to stop the pain.
I have a face to face (shock!!!) with a doctor on Monday and will ask more about it then, as the pain is debilitating and excruciating.
Just wondering if you are on statins and if your back pain could be related to that.
Hope you get it sorted soon.
Best wishes
Denise
