I’ve noticed a post about medical records and it reminded me of a question that I always meant to ask in here.
Does anyone else in Northern Ireland have access to these? There were murmurings a few years ago about being able to see them and I mentioned it casually to my Heart Failure nurse.
“See your medical records? Don’t be ridiculous!” And she chortled off muttering go herself as though I had mentioned unicorns.
I would love to see mine, but the closest I got was when the junior doctor, accompanying the consultant on her rounds, inadvertently left notes on my bed and I photographed them before she missed them.

Hello
I am in not in Ireland and we can get on our records and when I did it was quite an eye opener what was on there
I hope eventually Ireland will let patients do the same x
Scotland, England and Wales each have their own independent NHS. There are many differences between them, some minor some major. Northern Ireland have the combined service of Health and Social Care (HSC) so I would imagine it might diverge even more.
Dear Barbara72
Loved the candid Jane Bond approach to getting a copy of your hospital record !
