Hi I was wondering if anyone else suffered terrible forgetfulness, I'm 49 and had my heart attack in September, I had 2 stents in and my medication is only starting to be increased to the higher dose due to my blood pressure. I'm starting back at work in a dispensing doctors as a dispenser but my brain just seems to be confused and not able to remember or take info in, I'm very worried i just feel lost, my eye sight has also got worse since my heart attack aswell but thats mybe an age thing, Im hoping it will be just a blip, thank you

In my experience forgetfulness and other similar things are common, and all connected to what you’ve been through. I was forgetful and emotional and it improved over time. Your body’s been through quite an experience. 👍
Hi Niki
I agree with Dame65, having a HA impacts emotionally as well as physically and takes time to recover.
During your recovery I suspect you have not been using your brain in the same manner as when you are at work ( who would) . It’s been busy trying to take on board all that has happened.
Once back at work I’m sure you it won’t be long until the grey matter fires up, have your family and friends noticed a difference in your memory?
At 49 and a lady hormonal changes can also give you a bit of brain fog it’s a bit like the pregnancy and new mummy brain syndrome, might be something to consider.
As always if you are concerned go see your Gp and also get your eyes tested 😂
Good luck back at work I start back in 48 hours as well x
🤣thank you both yes I told my doctor about my symptoms but he gave me mirtazapine I took one but no more, knocked me out for a day and not on this planet the next day so I will see another doctor, ive had my eyes checked they are slightly down on my last script. So having a heart attack and being menopausal is a scatty place to be then🙈🤪x
Hi Niki,I can relate to the whole brain fog, memory lapses and eyesight going downhill...
I think it's a very normal process to a huge shock that your body goes through. Granted, mine wasn't caused by a HA, rather the loss of my hubby. He died after a short illness and while I was fine (mentally) during his illness, once he died, I had what I can only describe as a brain crash. It took a while (the best part of 2 years for me 😕) to get back to close to where I had been mentally, and I also opted to go onto HRT a year post loss, to see if that helped - being of that age!
Lists and reminders on my phone and on Alexa are what got me through, that and doing/completing one task at a time. Multitasking was off the cards for a long time - much to my annoyance, it's how us mums manage to juggle everything 😆 xx
Hi Lizzy-loo I'm so sorry about your husband passing such a sad and emotional time I can't even imagine.
I've got three diaries a calendar on the kitchen door my phone alarm (especially for taking medication) which on the odd occasion I still forget and my kids🤣. But fingers crossed my brain will kick back into gear going back to work. I'm hoping on Saturday when I have another echo my blood clot will of either decreased or gone and I will be chuffed to bits.
I know exactly what you mean Multitasking is very hard at the moment. I appreciate your reply so much thank you and I wish you well, take care xx
