I am now 77 and had a HA age 74. I notice that when dosage of medication is discussed, people rarely give their age & I don't know how far this is taken in to account when prescribing. Of the ones I take, age is referred in the patient info for bisoprolol- states adjustment for age not needed; losartan - lower dose age 75 onwards; pravastatin- precaution for use after age 70 with a recommended max dose. None of it has been titrated upwards. Was on max does or Atorvastatin to begin with but liver reacted badly and it was changed. Have read the the liver does not process meds so well with age and am wondering if further adjustment may be needed in the coming years. Any comments?
