I would guess by seeing your doctor? Don’t mean to sound cheeky, mjust was looking it up and found this if relevant / helpful but it definitely says to consult doctor or if more of an emergency…..

Hope you finds answers.
it’s not so easy to find a doctor at 9pm on a Sunday so just asked advice on here to see how others were diagnosed and I know about 911 before you tell me
I was just looking for information from others as I have consulted at doctor and been informed it’s AF so I kind of thought of that option as per your suggestion plus there were a few about during my 11 days in hospital that I had
Sorry to hear this affects you when not in AF. 3 weeks after a cardioversion knocked my heart back into sinus rhythm I went to the Etihad Stadium from Manchester Piccadilly and half way there (it's uphill all the way) I was so out of breath I was having to take stops and in the end flagged down a taxi. I hope you can get yours checked out to ensure that there is nothing underlying your situation. Kind regards.
sorry to hear that you are having this problem - being short of breath can be distressing
Dyspnoea is actually shortness of breath, so it is usually classed as a symptom of something - dyspnoea could be cased by lung problems or heart conditions, among other things, and if you are having this regularly (as you are) you should contact your GP for a lung function assessment
my own experience: after an episode of Takotsubo (go on google it!) i noticed increasing breathlessness on exertion at times - initially my GP stopped the beta-blocker I was taking and this helped - but it did not completely resolve the situation - i was concerned that it was due to poor heart function, but another GP in the practice sent me to the Practice Nurse for an initial lung function test, this indicated asthma which was confirmed by a full lung function assessment in a respiratory clinic - i now use an inhaler once a day and have been breathing well ever since - and i no longer get awful coughs lasting weeks after colds
so I suggest you see your GP as soon as you can, breathing problems should be prioritised so make it clear that this is your concern
thanks it’s strange today I’m great no issues other days I just can’t function
I am on seritide / ventolin
I had a ct on my lungs a echo and 4/5 ecg’s , lung x Ray then a heart x ray . all good just AF
I had a 24 heart tape never went over 70 then I had another and it hit 180 average 130 but didn’t feel breathless that day
But some days I can’t breathe I struggle with basic tasks walking upstairs etc
when i got my asthma diagnosis the nurse suggested that it could be connected to the deteriorating air quality and vary accordingly - do you think this might be a possibility for you?
you did not say whether or not you are taking a beta-blocker, but if you are there are alternatives
I live in the countryside I use various devices as pollen is a allergy of mine
I was having severe breathing problems prior to beta blockers
but the beta- blockers are known to exacerbate breathing problems - as far as i know they are contra-indicated for people with asthma or Chronic Obstructive Airways Disease (COPD) - there are alternatives which can be prescribed
yes but I had this breathing issue before the beta blockers I used to be up all night and part of the day sat next to a fan trying to get air in my lungs
I had 11 days in hospital with a fast heart 178 then 140 for 4 days before the beta blockers so they are not the original reason
