Hello APC Everything Blue 1958 said. You now have a future to look forward to and soon you will be marvelling at doing the ordinary everyday things I’m sure were beginning to be limited for you. 8 years on for me and feel better than I did before. Always thought my lifestyle wasn’t that unhealthy. But it’s even enhanced now I’ve made a few tweaks on the advice of cardiac rehab people. Yes you may have to do this too but life is so good when you can enjoy it. I won’t say speedy recovery, as patience is needed in this first year. I will say happy recovery. You will have good days and bad days and we hearties are here to help or celebrate them with you. You did it yeah 👏👏 Take Care APC
You will get there. I had Aortic valve and root replacement last year. I was in very little pain afterwards, but after the initial relief of making it through surgery I was really low.... as was my blood pressure 🙄 A friend gave me great advice though.
Look for your 1% improvement each day, no more.
Sometimes it was that I only cried for a couple of hours, or managed to stand for 5 seconds more. Before you know it you will be well on the way to recovery 😊
Hello
Yes you did it !
And to do a post in ICU on day 3 you sound to me you are doing really well I was still out of it on day 3 I did not really wake up till I was back on the ward which I think was about day 4 so sounds like you are doing great !
Your emotions will be all over the place that is normal you have just had a big operation but things will get better and post whenever you feel you need to talk
I am so pleased for you and now you start your recovery and slowly your life will get better and better and you will soon be doing the things you enjoy x
Congratulations! And all the best for a continued swift recovery!
Hello APC75, sincere best wishes for an ongoing great recovery. Please do take it steady and listen to your body. When you are offered cardiac rehab I would grab it with both hands. It made such a difference to me both in terms of my physical and mental recovery. I now 16months post CABG x 4. Take care and all the very best! Judi
Well done for getting where you are. All I would say is make sure you get some physiotherapy ASAP and move as quickly as possible. I was 4 days in ICU and didn't get any physio. Just a walk up the ward well into the next week. Try and circle your ankles, keep that blood flowing. Good luck!
Wishing you a speedy recovery. You're such a positive person. You will make a great recovery. Don't forget your huffing and puffing breathing x
Hi APC
Firstly, well done for reaching out when feeling low - that takes so much courage, be proud of yourself for recognising how you’ve been feeling and being honest enough with yourself to sit with that, as well as sharing.
Secondly, I just wanted to wish you a safe and happy recovery ❤️🩹
Sending best wishes
