Hi All. About this time last year I had angina symptoms returning after having had a double bypass in Feb 2020. A cardiac ct scan showed one of my graphs had failed and I said I would update when I knew more.Sadly, it's taken a long while to get a diagnosis but found out today I need a stent. Not great news but could be worse. The reason for the delay was the NHS waiting list for a cardiac MRI scan. I went private for that in the end which wasnt cheap but at least I know now where I stand.
Sadly, the cardiologist thinks I may also now have peripheral artory disease. The fun never ends with heart issues...
You're right, it could have been much, much worse. Good luck with the stent, hopefully you'll soon be feeling a whole lot better and your angina will at last be consigned to the rear view mirror.
Good to hear from you, I hope both you and your fiancé are well.
Thanks, it wasn't the best news but its good to know what the issue is and have a way forward.
I'm sorry to hear your fiancé has PAD, I hope its not too bad for him. I have some tests (the tests never end🤣) lined up to see if it's PAD but the cardiologist I have been seeing seems very keen to help me so that's very encouraging.
We are both doing “ok” - my fiancé is struggling quite a lot with the PAD unfortunately.
Please keep us updated on how you are getting on. I will keep my fingers crossed you get stented quickly and are soon back to good heart health.
We waited quite a while to see the vascular surgeon (this was over a year ago tho) but once we’d had that initial appointment the tests etc happened quickly. (Never ending line up of tests indeed!)
His PAD is quite widespread unfortunately, affecting both legs and in various places in the arteries. At this time stenting is also not an option, so we have been left in limbo really, with the only current option being pain relief.
