heart failure.: hello everyone ,my name... - British Heart Fou...
heart failure.
I am 76 and have a defibrillator after several cardiac arrests and am on similar medication to you but also Entresto and Spirolactone. My impression has been that if you can do exercise comfortably go ahead until it feels it is too much. I can walk 17 miles a day on the flat but hill climbing is no longer feasible. At my worst I struggled getting back to my car from the shops but once the medication was sorted things improved.
hi I am 65 and have heart failure and have a ICD. I’m on similar meds as you I was told to do what I fell comfortable with. I struggle to walk a mile then have to keep stopping and can’t do slopes any more
Pacemaker UK on Facebook may well be able to give you more information. As you know, there are different types of pacemakers given for different reasons - we are all subtly different. Good luck!
Try and get onto cardiac rehab and look at pumping marvellous
there are none near me james but but one person on here is a cardiac nurse and we will chat later. best regards xxx rosie
The advice I was given is to move briskly until you are slightly out of breath, but still able to converse. Doing something regularly is the best thing.
The BHF website has a collection of exercise programmes that might help.
