Hi
I'm a complete newbie. After over 2 years of palpitations and only an ECG detecting an irregular heartbeat during the height of covid, having never seen a GP, or having a blood test or being placed on blood thinners, then being told that 1.25 Bisoprolol was all I needed during a phone appointment when I'd explained the Bisoprolol wasn't doing anything to help, I was told that's it. I felt as though I was making a fuss about nothing, so I just got on with life until November 22., then my friends hubby had the same thing but had pain too, which I don't have. Since being admitted to hospital he had a lot of tests and this spurred me on to try again at the doctors.
In December I was diagnosed with AF, 2 leaking valves, upper enlarged chambers and heart failure at 45%. That was all I was told, along with my heart rate need3d to be reduced from being constantly over 100.
I'm now on Bisoprolol 10mg), Ramipril 2.5mg, dapaglifozin 10mg, ezetimibe10mg and edoxaban 60mg.
I have to measure and record my blood pressure, which is on the low side and heart rate twice a day to take to my GP appointments, and despite my heartbeat ranging daily between the 70's to the 100's, my GP says they are getting on top of it now. I only have to drop the recorded notes in for her to look at in a couple of weeks with a view to not needing to see her any more, I don't feel that's right because my heart rate isnt stable. Im not back to the heart failure clinic until June.
Am I being too cautious and concerned? I don't want to be making a fuss about nothing. When I told my GP that I still get palpitations, she said that's normal with Afib. I've had this for over 2 years with little help so far and just want help finally.
Thaky you for reading and take care.
