Some little while ago I reported that I had had an xray on my knee and the technician reported 7-8 metal fragments in my leg, and thought it might be shrapnel, although I am ex military never been injured.NOW have the answer they are small metal clips used when they harvested a vein from my leg for a triple by pass, and they will cause no problem

Thanks for passing the information on. I didn't realise that was how they did it. Does it cause problems at airport scanners, I wonder.

I had the radial artery from my left arm used for my graft in 2001. I had an X-ray several years later having injured my left arm and it was reported that there were several metal clips in the arm. I’ve never had any issues with airport scanners either.
