Dear Blackknight57
A warm welcome to your first { we hope of many } posts
If your hospital works anything like mine then you will receive the Cardiologists appointment first then you will get another letter asking for the tests that She/He [ Cardiologist } wants you to have to help with that appointment.
Mine is normally a week prior and includes { in my case } blood tests and an ECG along with anything else that they feel that they need.
If you have any worries just phone the appointment line on the Cardiologists letter and they will tell you if they need other tests.
Take care
the point is that the hospitals consultants wanted one within 6 weeks of mi,
Presently on around 8 weeks. It will be nearer 13 weeks come tge appointment
My gp asked if i had heard about the echo . So did cardio rehab
Apparently i had a perforation complication , fitted with 3 stents and a coil.
I had a word with my local surgery eho asked what happened . All we got was that we would discuss it on the 9th jan.
The echo was apparently i had a lvef of 26% 3 days before i came home.
If it was that low why did they discharge me? Does make one wonder if half these tests are reliable
I can understand that a few things are going on with your treatment { or lack of it }
the time scale is just that and without adding to what you already know, at best winter time is a push for the hospital.
Mine took about 12 weeks after being discharged with an EF of -20% so its common that you are released with a low count, mine is up in the 60% now with the use of the medication Estresto and took about a year to get there.
If your Dr is concerned he/she has better access than you do to the hospital system and should not have put it onto you to find out.
Lastly great news that you have { or are having } re-hab , I and many other are still waiting over a year down the line.
Try not to worry to much you look like you are being looked after ok even if there is a time delay or an information blockage.
Take care
thanks blue, but im a worry wort, my ef was 30% post op , next one was 41% it then dropped to 26% three days before discharge.
Good morning, I was referred for an echo 7 weeks ago by my GP, I have since been to A and E with irregular heart beats. I have now booked a private echo but even that’s not until 6th January. So you’re not alone.
