I was just wondering if anybody else is having this problem or even if it is heart related I have always had to sleep with 4 pillows but lately no matter how many pillows I sleep on I'm too flat and I wake up feeling severely nauseas so now I have to practically sleep sitting up which isn't fun absolutely kills your neck and can't get to sleep properly.
Any advice?
Thanks.

Do you suffer from indigestion as it sounds as if you experience acid reflux?
Are you overweight or unfit as they would be contributory causes. As regards being overweight, this should be measured not only by conventional BMI but according to your genuine waist size, not the trouser size.
IF it is acid reflux it would explain why you need to sit almost upright. Obviously some foods and drink are more likely to cause it than others -such as spicy food-as is eating within 2 plus hours of going to bed. As Neil says, best to get it checked out as it may be unrelated to food, but if you eat the 'wrong' foods close to bed time it might be worth dealing with that first.
Thanks that's really helpful I always do dinner at 7.30 and I went to sleep at 1 something probably not helping but I'm not sure what it could be definitely gona mention it to my consultant on 28th and see what he thinks.
Thanks that's helpful! I do have a lot wrong with my aorta already so I have noted down for my appointment with my consultant on 28th. Sorry to hear you have a dilated aorta what symptoms does that cause.
my symptoms have changed over the last year starting with a sharp chest stabbing pain and to now the same but with breathlesss and also back pain and a fast heart rate and feeling sick when i awake. I also have had a constant heavy feeling inside my chest, a nurse from st thomas london phoned last night as my symtoms are worsening and told me she will let the surgeon know about it and was also told they are awaiting results from a recent ct scan to determine when they can get me in for surgery
