Hello :-)

Believe it or not this is very common

Before my Bypass op they did a CT scan and I had a very small one to

A year later they did another scan and it was just the same no different and so they signed me of and said they were not worried

This is why they leave it a while before they scan again when they are small as so many people have nodules that will never know unless they have to have a scan for something but those that do and they find one they leave them up to a year and if they are the same size and everything then they are just classed as common nodules

I know it is easier said than done not to worry as I did but try not to as the chances are stacked really high it will be the same and they will no longer need to check it after you have had your next scan

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Same hear. Had another C.T. Scan approximately 3 months after C.T.Angiography because they found a small nodule on the right lung. Took 8 weeks for results to come back, despite chasing them up. Nodule had shrunk so discharged. As be kind said it's very common.

I had a similar experience. It turned out to be a benign cyst. They would be dealing with you quicker if they were really concerned. I know it's a worry though.

if you are really concerned you could ring your GP. But did the letter say anything more?

Please don't add to your worries, this is very common, both me and my sister had exactly the same letter, she is 60 I am 64, and both follow ups { a year later } shows no change.

These nodules appear for all sort of reasons, most are put down to an irritation or foreign body like pollen if you ever suffered from hay fever etc

So please don't worry they have found it and will now monitor you, as they told me it could have been there since I was a teenager...........now that is a long time !

Take care

Hello there - I too have a nodule in my right lung. It was picked up [2020] when I had an x-ray whilst being admitted. It's calcified and has been there for a long time [I am 65 years old now]. I too was worried when they told me but am sure you'll be fine. Take care.

If they thought it was anything nasty they would see you before January. good luck and try not to worry.

Nodules are commonly found incidentally when being scanned, and are usually benign lesions or cysts. We are more likely to have nodules and lesions as we age, although unless we are being scanned for any reason, they are never noticed. Every time my partner has a scan for concerns in one area, a nodule or lesion is noted in another, and so the merry-go-round begins again. As others have said, this is a common finding, so try to forget about it until the requested scan takes place.

I had the same thing happen at just your age. There were follow up scans at 6 months, a year and two years. There were no changes. It was concerning when first learning about it as, like you, I received a letter at home with the findings saying to consult with my doctor for further information. I agree if it were something serious your doctor would call right away. I find that bit reassuring. Wishing you well on all fronts.
