Hi,

I'm a 25 year old male who has recently been told I have a brugada type ecg after having blackouts 5 months ago. Brugada is not thought to be the issue, but I'm not really sure what the issue is with a brugada type ecg...

After these events I haven't felt right since with anxiety, depression, mood swings and phantom pains/feelings.

My question is, after going through an cardiac experience, have other people struggled to get back to some sort of normality? What have people done to ease or get through a time like this?

The constant worry/being on edge, along with palpitations most days is exhausting and is definitely taking its toll.

Thanks in advance.

Yes I've definitely struggled with my mental health before, during after after my hospital stay.

I haven't kept it a secret and have asked for help wherever possible. GP, private counselling and Clinical Psychologist.

I also do guided meditation which helps sometimes but not always.

So my advice would be to speak to your GP and ask what help is available for you

Good luck

Joanne

Hello Willow00 and welcome. So sorry that you are suffering with your anxiety. Totally agree with Rhinos67’s reply as I too have struggled with anxiety as a lot of people on here have. My heart nurse put me in touch with a great psychologist. I also find walking helps. (Getting out in nature 🙂). Sending big hugs to you ❤️

I should also add, talk to your doctor/cardiologist about your feelings to try for some reassurance. Best wishes X
