Hi In July 2021 I had a CT scan to check my lymph nodes which were ok,But scan picked up that my coronary arteries were significantly calcified this might be causing my chest pain. In September 2022 I had a CT angiogram with contrast and my stents and arteries are clear. I had a stent in my LAD and RCA in 2017, Bit confused with all this ,Thanks for your help

CT scans
That’s good news but can see confusing. I have been by my cardiologist told CT scans can sometimes overstate things more than what is found at angiogram. A discussion with your cardiologist to get better understanding to clear up confusion is definitely needed. Good luck.
ok will do thanks for the
Calcium on coronary arteries is very common findings on CT scan for abdominal and other unrelated tests. I had an abdominal scan in 2017 which showed calcification and had an angiogram done to check. Results were left CA 35% blockage and right and circumflex arteries 15/25%. I was put on low dose Aspirin and in 2019 felt a bit tired and mentione it to GP. He referred me to a private cardiologist who done a stress test and later another angiogram which resulted in a small stent LCA. Not sure why the first angiogram was so minimal or why the need for a stent 2 years later but feel fairly good so it is what it is. Second cardiologist told me recently that because I had symptoms and they can measure the blood flow from your left artery he felt it was better to have it sorted. Anyway a CT scan will bounce back off calcium but will not be able to detect how much without further tests.
thanks for your reply. In September had a CT angiogram with contrast said my sents were clear in my LAD and RCA and no other disease in any of my other arteries did not mention any calcium at all. Just waiting for a ultrasound on my heart to check a 2/6 murmur
