Just had a phone call from my Cardiologist following my scan, he was very pleased with the results and my stents are keeping the bloodflow good and my calcium score was better than 75% of the population of my age.
He did notice the lower part of my lungs were not very efficient, but being a retired Baker breathing in flour dust for over 50 years I am not surprised. My Father and Grandfather were both Bakers and I used to play on the hessian sacks in the family bakery as a youngster, so probably flour exposure for 65 years may be the culprit!
To say I am pleased would be an understatement and the drug regime I am on seems to be working well as I feel better in myself than I have done for quite a while. I dont have to see the cardiologist again!

There are far more gluten free products now than a few years ago, then it was just a rock hard loaf or a fresh cream meringue! My wife is insulin diabetic and decries the lack of sugar free products, many fat free, but that increases the sugar content to compensate.
My daughter K is a Type 1 diabetic, so I agree with your wife re sugar free products. Although K used to be able to count on grabbing a bottle of lucozade when out and about and hypo, but they took so much of the sugar out of it a few years ago, due to the sugar tax.......you can't win.
Yes, there are definitely more GF products than a few years ago, and I am grateful, but sadly all the breads are just rubbish.
Good to know the cardiologist report wasn’t half baked 🤣. May I ask if the scan was routine or requested and was it an nhs provision or private? I ask as I had a stent 7 years ago and receive no follow up ‘monitoring’ in this regard. As a former maintenance engineer the idea of not carrying out a periodic MOT type check concerns me. 🤞
My original HA was 12 years ago but i had a bout of breathlesness about 18 months ago and as well as a PCR covid test I was sent for a chest xray where they discovered my heart was enlarged and referred me to the cardiologist at the hospital. I saw him Dec 20 with a scan and ECG and a slight change to my drug routine, I then saw him again Dec 21 where he added Dapafligozin? and Amalopidine and changed my statin to Atorvastatin and increased most other drugs. He then arranged for a CT scan of my heart which I gave the results to in my earlier post. I think as long as you are feeling OK what with the Pandemic, much routine health checks have been missed but in order to get any checks you have to start the ball rolling with your GP, if you can get to see them. Our GP used to do annual heart clinics but now they seem to be telephone based. It is a case of shout for your needs or get forgotten about.
