High Risk?

My first attempt at posting fell foul, so I'm going to allude to the subject! My conditions are CHD and hypertension. Does this mean I fall into the high risk category for the current season's campaign? (They ask you to say.) The NHS web pages are unclear. Higher, maybe, but not high? Thanks!

Hi Bayreuther (did you sing there in 1978?). I would be inclined to tick the yes box in this case. It seems to be up to you GP to decide whether or not you’re vulnerable; I received a letter from the council about 10 months into the youknowwhat saying my GP had put me on the list. I had a heart attack 4 years ago and have since become obese and diabetic.

I didn't sing - but was lucky enough to see the Chereau Ring.

hi I had text out of blue saying eligible for seasonal boost, I’m 52 I am guessing I’m in high risk group? Think fall in this group “aged 5 and over and at high risk due to a health condition” I can’t add link as has the word in it. Google seasonal booster and it comes up as first result re nhs site.

That was what i thought, but why didi revive the text invitation?

Probably because your GP has listed you as high risk.

The Green book allows a hospital clinician or GP to use their clinical judgment and add people to a higher risk group.

Thank you Heartifact. Yes, it looks like group 6 for me. So to answer my own question, No I'm not at high risk.

The risk groups 4 and 6 have been merged.

You are at higher risk than the general population.

I suggest you contact the BHF Helpline for clarification.

I was invited, via text and letter, a couple of weeks ago, however I was unable to attend due to an asthma attack.

I have to have both inoculations next Saturday now.

I'm assuming I'm in class 4 too due to my health rather than my age.

I got a text inviting me and booked it being absolutely certain I was group 3- over 75. My son just pointed out that I'm a year younger than I thought I was LOL. Quite what difference one year makes I'm not sure but I'm happy to be younger than I expected. Never was good at maths.

Got my text invitations early for flu as well as Rona. On the list because I had 4 heart attacks in 2018.

I thought the same too until my sister in law who has heart failure and cancer got notified the same week as myself.! I have a nil chads score and Afib. So compared to her I’d have expected to get contacted much later. Would you agree.?

The provision of C* booster jabs seem to be a bit of a postcode lottery irrespective of which risk group you belong to, just like before. My cousin, who I have spoken to today and who lives in a different part of the UK, is due for her jab this week, same as me, even though she is 4 groups below me. And when I was offered a booster jab about three weeks ago I had to try several attempts to get an appointment which was not miles away, whereas someone I know in London got 'done' at the local pharmacy within days. My GP has been nowhere near these jabs and even the flu jabs seem to present them with an administrative problem, which is why I use a pharmacy.

she’s 70 and not in good health. and I’m 55 and working full time. My last well man clinic tests came back as nothing to treat or start to treat 5months ago. I’m just a little confused because my 81 year old mother was notified the same week as my self and my sister in law too and she lives in a different area.!!
