Dapagliflozin

I use the above for heart failure but find my urine is always very frothy. Is this a side affect of the drug?

hey. I take that tablet too. It will affect your urine because of the amount of sugar it gets rid off out your body x

Before my major heart attack I had frothy urine and was diagnosed with CKD stage 3b. After the heart attack I was put on a Dapagliflozin trial which along with other drugs improved my heart failure condition.The frothy urine continued but got no worse so for me Dapagliflozin has made no difference to my frothy urine or CKD diagnosis.

I have read in a number of places heart failure medication can cause Chronic Kidney Failure or kidney problems if not monitored by your cardiac team who should be adjusting your doseage levels.

I have noticed that too, I have been on Dapagliflozin at the request of my Cardiologist since last Christmas, To be perfectly honest I have felt better now than I have since my HA 12 years ago. I pee twice as much as I used to and have had a couple of bouts of thrush but sorted with Canestan or equivalent, a small price to pay! I am also borderline diabetic and it helps with that too, I have just had my annual diabetic review and they were very pleased with my results.

been on Dapa over six months. Not noticed frothy urine. It definitely does smell of sugar puffs, however.
