High Potassium

I have had the results of my second blood test, and unfortunately I have been told to stop my Entresto. I have also had the Bisoprolol stopped because it was lowering my heart rate to much. I am a little worried now because until I see the consultant on the 6 October all I am on is the Apixaban to thin my blood, nothing for my HF. I feel that I should have been given an alternative to the Entresto. I feel quite well in myself at the moment, just a bit concerned.

Hello :-)

Sorry to hear that your blood tests have come back the same but the Doctor must think it is safe to stop them for now and I know the 6th October seems a long way of but it will soon be here

I am not sure if you got to speak to your Doctor but maybe if you could and let them know how worried you are so they can explain why they know you will be ok for the next 4 weeks till you have your appointment

Let us know how you get on :-) x

My husband has stopped taking bisoprolol and he feels so much better, no dizziness hands not so cold and his pulse back to his normal level, it has proved to be the medication, just takes aspirin and losarton.

Hi! I don’t know if I can be much help but just to say that bisoprolol didn’t work for me and my asthma was awful.

I’m on a calcium channel blocker which is better for me.

Dear Lovedogs, I completely understand your concern and the advice from others is the same that I would have given.

About apixaban I wish I was still on it, but my GP changed it to edoxaban which I thought was the same, but just a different name. Have since found out though that there’s an antidote (if needs be) for apixaban but not for the one I’m on, so it must be a cost cutting thing?

I didn’t know about high potassium levels and I take a potassium supplement, so maybe I should stop that?!

I hope that you get a chance to speak to your GP before October, because yes, that does seem like a long time away…
