good morning everyone, there was ta thread a couple days ago re the cost of airport drop offs,I can't find it now, I did not realise that blue badge holders could be exempt from this charge. checked my local airport Glasgow which is £4 but there was nothing about arriving by private hire I then emailed them and they in turn sent it to NCP who have just sent me a lovely email explaining what the driver does so that the drop off is free. I would like to thank the lady that posted about the subject or I would not have thought to query this charge.t a char

Yes if you struggle with walking due to your condition you can apply for a badge, if you receive PIP for mobility you get one automatically. Char

I’ve recently been awarded AA at the highest levels, very surprised, anticipated a battle and Appeals. I’ve not thought about applying for a Blue Badge, some days I’m not too bad walking , some days I struggle, would I qualify do you think?

Best to ask if your GP will support your application. Fortunately mine did, although I have other conditions on top of the heart issue. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, now there’s a problem, ask my Gp. Who is my Gp, we used to have 12 at the surgery, now I think there may be 2 and some students. I had a very bad adverse reaction to the V, I reported it by yellow card, developed Pericarditis the next day, asked for a Gp to phone me, they phoned me back 4 weeks later. You couldn’t make it up🙀

It would definitely support your application and as weavershaz says you could speak to your gp as well, my friend gets a letter from her gp and she got her blue badge no problem. Good luck with your application char

It was me that posted about the parking at Airports and I'm pleased to have been able to help somebody. I have a Blue Badge because I don't walk very far and to be honest it is the best thing I have ever done. I am a Pensioner in Private rental and live on my state pension and savings and my Blue Badge 💙 is my life line. I don't abuse the privilege of being awarded one.I also arrange airport assistance when I travel because I can't manage my suitcase and the walk to the gate! Eurostar London offer the same service as the airlines.

I hope you manage to get away on holiday from Glasgow and enjoy yourself!

Hi and thanks again for the post, I knew about the assistance but not about the drop off fee it's good to find out that it will be waved for blue badge holders, as you say it makes a big difference to have one, on top of my breathlessness I have arthritis in my ankles it is great if I can park near to where I am going, char
