have recently had a perfusion scan at Papworth and had the results letter back today. It says I have ‘‘inducible ischaemia in the basal inferolateral myocardium’.
Cant speak to the cardiologist until next week and I cant get a definitive explanation on Google so can anyone explain this for me?
TIA

Trouble is sometimes have to look at several references. And whilst people say not to google, it’s about assessing the source of the information regards can you rely on it.
This is easy to say hard to do, but as you can’t find a clear guide and even if you could try your best to put aside between now and when you see your cardiologist. Also have some questions ready that you want to ask.
Apologies if you know this already.
Good luck, hope they give you a clear explanation.
Doctors love their jargon! From what I can make out of the terminology it seems that during testing they have found an area of your heart muscle at the side and near the bottom (infero lateral) where blood flow is not quite as good as it should be. The cardiologist will be able to give you more exact diagnosis and what they would plan to do about it.
I totally depend on Google for clarity on medical technical words, and the latest research. On just about everything. Not everyone thinks Google is bad fir me! Quite the reverse, but I do always check the site is reputable. Your clear description is very like what I found on-line using NHS sites.
