Is 5% PVCs, with a normal sinus rythm, after 24 ecg OK? I have no idea whether it can be dangerous or not as nobody in the medical field said anything to me either way!

5% PVCs
Hello, I had a Holter monitor worn for 2 weeks and the result was 6% PVCs. Sinus rhythm otherwise. The cardiologist considered this too low for any medical intervention. We discussed possible contributing factors such as caffeine, alcohol, strenuous exercise, medications etc. Perhaps look at these things and try not to focus on the ectopics. Mine appear to have settled down with a few changes in those areas. Good luck!
Either way consult you doctor but, lay off caffeine, smoking etc for a few days then c how you feel. Start eliminating, but, but, but see your DOC
With the caveat that I’m not medically qualified. PVCs are only considered a problem in their own right if the burden is 10% or more, and/or you’re having runs of three or more PVCS in a row without a normal beat in between. Otherwise, they’re generally classed as ‘one of those things’ that we have to learn to live with. There are a number of known triggers that can cause or increase the frequency of ectopics, so worth looking into what may help reduce them: doesn’t work for everyone, but I got mine down from several hundred a day to around a dozen by making lifestyle changes including cutting out caffeine and a few other things that set me off. .
Thank you I stopped drinking my one cup of coffee but it made no difference and in fact I read that caffeine can widen your arteries so having it with a meal can actually stop pvcs when the blood goes down to aid digestion. I don't smoke, eat healthily, am active and about a stone overweight but if I forget them I don't notice them. I have been told to have a walking test so I will see what transpires after that. Thanks again,
