Hi I had a HA in December last year, which resulted in me having 4 stents fitted. I am 48 & general fit guy with no history of heart problems don’t smoke & only drink socially. I am on the usual cocktail of meds after HA. 6 months on I still have the odd chest pain burning sensation. I have spoken to the rehab team who then organised me to have a fit test, that turned out to be ok. Spoke with my Doctor and he said that these pains and burning are not linked to my Heart, as the gtn spray does not relieve it & my fit test results don’t suggest I have any problems with my heart. But you know you ain’t right in yourself and I don’t feel 100% I have good and bad days but fed up of ringing Doctor and rehab team as they all say the same thing and make me feel I’m a hypochondriac!! Does anyone suffer with similar situation as my self ? Maybe share a few thoughts as to what it might be.

Speaking from personal experience chest pains or discomfort do not necessarily mean heart problems. You can sometimes get similar symptoms from gastro related conditions such as acid reflux or a hiatus hernia. And if you are on several meds they could be causing an 'upset stomach' although you may already be on a prazole type medication to quieten things down. So you could talk this through with your GP if the possibility of gastro problems has not already been discussed.
Put a scope down your esophagus and confirm it’s not a hiatus hernia
Hi WW73 - I have experienced exactly the same after having stents fitted in 2019. Sometimes the heat is on the right hand side of chest - and v specific almost like a bruise - and sometimes it's more like traditional heartburn. Having gone back to A&E two months after the HA, they confirmed that whatever else it was, it was definitely not a further HA. To be fair, it felt nothing like the HA felt when it originally struck me.
Almost three years on now, the heat sensation comes now and then but I can exercise fine and feel better than I did when exercising that I did before the HA. So I maybe get to the stage where I think - well, it's not getting worse, I can deal with it when it happens so it's just something that happens now and then.
Not to say your conditions mean exactly the same, of course - but for me it's reassuring to read that someone seems to be experiencing something v similar. As I indicated, if I can help at all, it really hasn't done me any harm at all and I've been absolutely fine when exercising. It probably is all related to meds we've never taken before and it's perhaps no surprise that our bodies have some reaction to the cocktail of them.
