Good for you Archiebear!

There's loads of posts on this forum about the downsides of medication, so it's good to read a post about meds doing what they're supposed to do...namely making us better!

I too am on a fairly typical cocktail of heart meds, and I'm happy to report that all my critical metrics; ie blood pressure, lipid levels, HbA1c, etc, are back in the safe zone.

How much this is due to meds and how much is down to life style changes I'll never really know, but I believe the meds have certainly played a role, and for that I'm eternally grateful!

Sure, I get a few side effects, occasionally I hit the "Bisoprolol Wall" and feel a bit sleepy, or sometimes I get the "Ramipril Cough", it can be irritating when it's hard to staunch the bleeding from a tiny little nick due to Aspirin, and I also get some muscle aches from Statins.

But the reality is that I'd willingly put up with this and a whole lot more in order to enjoy the health benefits that these meds are delivering. It's worth putting up with some side effects if it delivers just a few extra days of this wonderful life!

Good luck, and thanks again for your post!

It’s great to see two such positive posts regarding medication, I am also on virtually the same meds and again feel better than I did in my thirties / forties, I’m now sixty five. Unlike many people my lifestyle hasn’t changed as I’ve always eaten sensible, drank very little alcohol, never smoked and exercised every day. Therefore without doubt in my case it has to be the meds that have made such a significant improvement in my health.Good luck to you both and keep on living everyday to the full.

Take care
