I’m having a MRI as an at Harefield in June. When I get the results does anyone know how I can get a face to face appointment with the cardiologist? I have had a consultation on the phone but only with the arrhythmia nurse who is ok but I do feel she isent listening to me. I feel that after all the tests I do need to see someone !and discuss any options or treatment I may or may not need .
Thank you

Ask for one! That is what I did...twice.On another occasion I ognored the tele. appoint. and instead went along to the hospital dept. and said i did not think a tele. conversation would be helpful.Another time the dept set up a three way video call so my son could be there. You have to ask for what you think is best for you.... and insist...politely.
Thank for that , I will definitely insist this time once I have the MRI scan results will do it politely!! I just wanted to know what other people did !
May I ask what the MRI is for ? I had a high resolution one on my chest recently but that was requested by a respiratory consultant. Would an MRI show any heart issues ? I have AF. No need to reply if its intrusive
No problem I’m having the MRI scan on my heart as they are trying to diagnose why I sometimes get a high heart rate. I had an ablation for AF about 10:years ago and have been fine until the last 6 months .
Well I hope it goes well and you get a diagnosis. I will tell the cardiologist when I eventually see them that I've had one done it may be of help for me. Ps did you have a cardio version first before the ablation ?
Hi , I had my mri at Harefield a couple of weeks ago but didn’t know when I’d hear from my cardiologist as originally I was told my follow up would be in July , and I never got any replies to emails or calls !!! So unfortunately I just bit the bullet and paid to see my cardiologist privately, just so I could have a face to face appointment with him relatively quickly . It’s a sad state of affairs but at least I saw him very quickly. Good luck 🤞
I hope you told him what you'd been forced to do just to see him because the hospital was so bad with appointments. Then go through PALS with a complaint and a request for your consultation fee to be refunded.
I was offered a phone consultation recently for my 1 year review. I wasn't happy with that so asked for a face to face and got one. If you don't ask ...... 🙂Good luck.
