Barts' Cardiac Support Services Referral

Hi.

I am a patient at UCL outpatients general cardiology, but many things are now moving to Barts. I see on the website that Barts offer cardiac psychology support, but when I have tried to contact both UCLH and Barts switchboards, I have had very little success getting to speak with anyone who knows anything about it! Anyone have any advice how to seek referral or point of contact please?

I have my care at The Royal Free.

Unfortunately because of the epidemic all the psychologists were moved to support the staff.

The Cardiac psychologist has only been back in post for the last 3 months.

Have you tried contacting the Patient Advisory Liaison Service, PALS?

Or try the cardiac rehab team

So after pushing through various switchboard and secretaries, I was told that the cardiac psychology was only for patients in the Tower Hamlets area (?), and aimed at patients are who are recovering post-surgery. Does this resonate with anyone else?

The Cardiac psychologist at the Royal Free is available to any heart patient or their relatives.
