I am on Furosemide (40mg per day) which did sort out my water retention amd ankle swelling. However, (Ihate that word) for the past four months have again been suffering from ankle swelling which appears to be evident only to how many hours I am on my feet and hw much hard work I do in that period and appears to be worse in my left ankle. I don't want to bother the GP but on the other hand am a little concerned - advice please?

SWELLING OF THE ANKLE
Hello
I get ankle swelling mostly my right but can be my left as well sometimes , heat can make it worse as well as how active I have been but I have had it checked several times by my Doctor who has no concerns over it
I know you say you do not want to bother your Doctor but that is what they are there for and any kind of ankle swelling is wise to get checked out
Normally it is nothing but then it can be sometimes so I really would bother your Doctor and let them decide if maybe your meds need adjusting if they need to have anything else checked or if nothing needs to be done which I hope it is the latter
When you are resting elevated your feet that helps the swelling to go down
Let us know how you get on x
Hello
I was told by the Heart Failure Nurse that if it is near the end of the day not to worry, but if I wake up with swollen ankles I should contact her.

Mr Kelling. I agree with the other respondents that it is common when one has been on one's feet all day but if it is a new feature I agree that advice of a GP is advisable. I also agree that in most cases no cause is found. With best wishes. Regards
